A real-life relationship drama made headlines in China recently after a woman revealed to a Chongqing news station that her now ex-boyfriend broke up with her when they visited a hotel in the southwestern China municipality for the first time.
This is after the man accused her of cheating because her smartphone auto-connected to the hotel’s WiFi while at the reception.

As shared by SCMP, the woman, surnamed Li, told Chongqing TV that her ex-boyfriend noticed her smartphone had auto-connected to the hotel’s WiFi when she was trying to find her digital identity card on the device.
This is because she had forgotten to bring her physical identity card, which was required for check-in.
Seeing this, the man immediately became suspicious and asked Li if she had been to the hotel with someone else.

Li then stressed that it was also her first time at the hotel, but she couldn’t explain why her smartphone auto-connected to the WiFi.
The couple then argued, with the man breaking up with her on the spot, as he believed that she was not loyal to him.

Following the breakup, Li revealed that even her friends didn’t believe her innocence, which made her feel insulted.
She then looked up how such a thing could happen and realised that another hotel in Chongqing, where she used to work, actually used the same username and password as the hotel they visited.
Li then tried to contact her ex-boyfriend to explain, but he refused to talk to her and even deleted her account on his chat app.
Following this, Li contacted Chongqing TV as she wanted a platform to explain what had transpired and prove her innocence.
However, Li has no intention of reconciling with her ex-boyfriend as she doesn’t want to be with someone who doesn’t trust her.
