Gunman Steals RM2 Million Worth of Jewellery from Shop in Kota Damansara, PDRM Confirms Arrest

Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing RM2 million worth of jewellery from a gold shop at NSK Kota Damansara supermarket yesterday (March 22).

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrest of the 32-year-old suspect in Bukit Beruntung, Hulu Selangor, at 10:15 pm on the same day.

The armed robbery at the gold shop was reported to police at 4:56 pm. During the robbery, seven trays of jewellery were stolen from the shop’s display rack. The suspect fled in a waiting Proton Persona.

Police launched an operation to track down the suspect, resulting in his arrest and the seizure of a portion of the stolen jewellery and a firearm believed to have been used in the robbery.

The suspect and the seized items have been taken to the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 for committing armed robbery.

Checks revealed that the suspect has no prior criminal record. Police have also identified the suspect’s accomplice and are working to apprehend the individual.
