An incident at Kajang Hospital recently sparked online debate after a visitor got into an argument with a security officer over illegal parking.

In the two-minute video, the man, who sought clarification on why he couldn’t park in a particular spot, was seen arguing with the officer. She explained her reasoning and ultimately stated that simply saying “sorry” wasn’t enough.

The video begins with the officer clarifying that the man was not a hospital staff member.

Here’s part of the exchange:

“How would I know this isn’t a parking spot? I know the staff parking is over there. There are no markings, no signs, no cones. That’s why I parked here. If this is wrong, then others are also parked in non-designated areas.”

The security officer responded:

“I was out for lunch, which is why I didn’t clamp your car earlier. What if I had?”

After the man apologised for not following the rules, the officer replied:

“You think ‘sorry’ is enough? The least you can do is pay me.”

To which the man responded with, “Why? This is bribery.”

The officer then ended the conversation and told the man to leave, insisting he was lucky she wasn’t around to clamp his car.

But the man didn’t back down:

“If I’m lucky because you weren’t around to do your job, then why weren’t you doing your job?”

At that point, the officer threatened to call for backup, prompting the man to leave.

Netizens had mixed reactions:

“Both are at fault — one for parking illegally, the other for asking for a bribe.”

“If it were me, I’d just say ‘okay’ and ‘sorry’ and drive off. Not worth the hassle,” said a user.
