The Singaporean man who was found dead in a Cheras Homestay with his wife was wanted by PDRM for a sexual assault case against a minor, and he was supposed to appear in Court, but he did not.
Serdang District Police Chief recently told Singapore media, Shin Ming Daily News, that the sexual assault case took place at a condominium in Selangor, in which the man’s wife also witnessed the incident.
43-year-old Xie Jin De and 33-year-old Zhuang Shuyi (transliterations) were friends with the 13-year-old victim, and on the day of the assault, the Singaporean couple took her out for a walk before bringing her to a condo in Selangor. That was where Xie sexually assaulted the minor on April 30.
The victim then told her parents that the couple “did bad things” to her, prompting her parents to immediately call the police.
He also confirmed that the two deceased were subsequently arrested by police under Section 14 (a) of the Child Sexual Offences Act 2017 (sexual assault/indecent assault).
“The police received a report and launched an investigation, and arrested Xie Jin De and Zhuang Shuyi. Both were the subjects of the case at the time.”
The couple was scheduled to attend court on May 14, but did not show up. Two days later, they were found dead at a KL homestay in Taman Taynton View, Cheras.
PDRM ruled the matter as suicide, as charcoal residue and a grill were found in the room. The windows and doors were also sealed with garbage bags.
