A PDRM officer has been suspended from duty for asking a woman to check into a hotel together, as shown in the viral video posted by the victim herself.
In a recent update about the matter, the said officer has met with the woman to extend his apologies.
The victim was invited to Malaysian rapper Caprice’s office, where the latter asked the woman what she would want from the police officer, to which she said a sincere apology.
“I want an apology, because he made me feel like I had no dignity that night,” the woman told Caprice as shown in Caprice’s Instagram video.
Caprice then asked if the woman was willing to “close the chapter” if he could get the suspended police officer to apologise to her, and the woman agreed. Not long after, the police officer appeared at the scene to personally say sorry to the victim. The victim, however, was not the only one who received an apology.
The police officer also apologised to the victim’s mother and grandmother via a video call set up by Caprice himself.
The conversation of the apology, however, was not disclosed. As for the fate of the police officer in his line of duty, Caprice said that it is between him and the Royal Malaysian Police now.
“Any action taken against the police officer is between him and PDRM now. We could only get both parties to meet each other personally for the apology.”
Earlier, the said officer was heard asking the woman out multiple times while on duty, saying that he wanted to hang out “now”.
As of June 15, Ampang Jaya police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said that the officer had been pulled out of duty while investigations are ongoing. An internal disciplinary check on top of the main investigation is also being conducted.
