Delivery riders work long hours in tough conditions and deserve our respect, but this was not the case for this delivery rider.
Taking to social media, this rider shared an incident where he was scolded by a customer for honking when no one answered his call during delivery.
Taking to Facebook, video owner Elya Natasha shared her story when she made this delivery at Temerloh Jaya, Pahang.
“As I was making my delivery, I arrived at this home. I tried greeting the homeowner, called them, but they were unreachable.”
“I proceeded to honk, and the owner came out of the house all guns blazing, hurling insults at me,” she said.
She added, “I wanted to make sure that I had the right house; hence, the need for me to contact the owner.”
She explained, “As I got angry at the owner, I started recording the whole incident. I know that the elderly lady did not know that her daughter ordered food, but she could have done it in a more civil manner.”
“Moments later, the Makcik’s daughter came out, paid for the food and asked the mother to go back inside.”
“I refuse to let this go. No matter what stature you hold, you cannot simply treat people the way you treated me,” she said.
Look, there are better ways to handle situations like this. There is no fault in offering a small gesture of kindness, right?
