The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have revealed that they are currently investigating an incident in Taman Rishah, Ipoh, Perak, in which a female employee was allegedly assaulted by her employer.
In a viral video that’s circulating online, the employer can be seen apparently slamming the worker’s laptop in a fit of rage and injuring her in the process. The victim has since lodged a police report on the matter.

Following the video going viral, Perak District Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin, in a statement, confirmed that the police received a report from the 24-year-old victim over the incident at around 2.10pm on 22 May.
He added that the initial investigation found the complainant was working when a misunderstanding occurred, whereby the victim had mistakenly opened a sealed envelope addressed to the suspect.
The suspect then pushed the laptop the victim was using until it hit her face. The victim has since received treatment and a check-up at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

Accordingly, the police are currently investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
Abang Zainal further revealed that the Ipoh District Police have also recorded statements from several witnesses who were at the scene to assist with the investigation.
The Ipoh District Police Chief asserted,
“The identity of the suspect has been identified, and follow-up action will be taken in line with legal procedures.”
PDRM also advised the public not to spread the video or false information regarding the incident to avoid confusion or disturbance to the investigation process.
